Studio SALES di Norberto Ruggeri

Was born in Remscheid, Germany in 1968 and later studied at Bournemouth and Poole College of Art from 1990 to 1992. Tillmans represents one of the most influential artists of his generation, achieving worldwide notoriety after winning in 2000 the Turner prize, the first photographer to achieve this award and the first non-English citizen. His subjects vary from portraits, to still life, to landscape, escaping a specific categorisation and at times approaching also abstract compositions. His works, often appearing spontaneous and improvisatory, are in fact meticulously planned. Tillmans has a very personal sense of beauty, which he seeks to uncover from the people, places and objects that surround him. His photographs are exhibited in the permanent collections of Tate Britain (London), Museum Kunstpalast (Düsseldorf), Sprengel Museum (Hannover) and Pinakothek der Moderne (München). He has had solo shows at Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam (2008), Hamburger Bahnhof, Museum für Gegenwart, Berlin (2008), Kunstverein München (2007), Kestner-Gesellschaft, Hannover (2007), Camera Austria, Graz (2007), PS1 Contemporary Art Center/MoMA, New York (2006) and his exhibition Wolfgang Tillmans, presented at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago (2006), travelled to Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, Hirshhorn Museum, Washington D.C.
